This space is where most of the antique items are displayed. They are organised according to the main stream antique categories.. It allows people to navigate based on their choice of personal interest.
Gallery
In this space, objects of special interest or themes are displayed. They may not be the main stream Chinese antiques, but are part of the heritage of the Chinese culture. For centuries people travelled and traded across countries. As a result, some arts and crafts were subjected to various level of influences. Objects of other countries that help us to understand the elements of cross cultures are also displayed in this space.
About Us
For centuries, antique and art collection have been well regarded hobbies in China, particularly among the scholars and the learnt people. They enjoyed the rich artistic and cultural heritage passed down from the earlier generations. Unfortunately, the collections were generally shared only among small circles of people.
With the progress of the society, we have a lot of public and private museums these days to preserve and to display the objects. In recent decades, antique collection becomes extraordinarily popular. This situation leads to more and more good objects surfaced from previously unnoticed places. At the same time, more and more people are keen to seek knowledge in this area.
The Overseas Collectors is a non-profit making organization. We attempt to facilitate these activities by setting up a virtual platform, by exhibiting our humble collections and to share information.
For now, the membership is only limited to people residing outside China, as it was named. Each individual can play a small role as an ambassador in cultural exchange. Like any museums, the objects displayed will be of high quality and genuine. They are the members’ personal collections, needless to say.
