Description

這是一個淺綠底色的銅胎珐琅彩執壺。高提樑, 方口, 短頸, 平肩. 四面開光都繪有西洋人物畫。正面有一個大年纪的老人在樹下慈祥地俯對着一群白胖的小孩子。配上了遠景有十字架的教堂，很有可能是表達着一個宗教的景像。耶稣愛小孩的故事在基督教國家中曾經很流行的。(參看附圗油畫)。

背面的開光是一家洋人休閒團聚的景况。壺流的两旁和背面也分別繪有人物。其他的小地方密密麻麻地加上了錦地和花邊彩圙。

This is a Canton enamel wine pot with fine drawings all over. On the green tiled ground, there are four panels, each one drawn with European subjects. The main one has an elderly man surrounded with three kids. Having the church in the background, it is highly possible meant to be a religious theme. In those days a popular picture among the Christian families is Jesus chatting with the children (ref to an oil painting below).

Opposite is a family scene, with parents and two children. The other two panels are simple sceneries. The rest of the surfaces are tightly decorated with various patterns.
