Thailand Sawankhalok bowl 宋加洛碗

A Thailand Sawankhalok bowl.
It has lively engraved flower scroll and applied brown glaze on top of it.
Thailand has a long history of pottery, since the 3rd BC. While it is not far from China, it has significant Chinese influence, particularly during the long period of the Ocean Silk Road trade. During the Sukhothai Kingdom important diplomatic visits were recorded. More importantly they brought in highly experienced potters form China to improve their skills. Having said that the Thailand pottery always retained their indigenous characteristics.
Base on the writing on its box, this bowl has been a proud objective of a Japanese collector, acquired in 1994 from Thailand.
